1556 Fourth Street
San Rafael, California
The cutting room, known as the Redroom, features 16 foot ceilings and beautiful bordello-red walls, with velvet curtains to control sound. The control room has been tuned and includes a vocal booth.
The studio was designed by Dr. Richie Moore, renowned creator of Abbey Road and Electric Ladyland studios. The resulting space is one that engineers love and musicians can't leave. Producer/engineers who have worked here include Rick Rubin, Don Was, Mutt Lange, Val Garay, Walter Afanasieff, and Bill Botrell, to name just a few.
We have a Digi 003 rack, genelec and tannoy monitor systems, Mac Pro quad core with 6Gig of RAM. Mics include: AKG C12VR, Soundeluxe E47, KM184, AKG414, Cascade Fathead, and more. Mic preamps including Avalon, Langevin, and Focusrite, lots of vintage and boutique amps and guitars, and a Nord 3 and Korg Triton extreme.
We are just one block from music store Bananas at Large and surrounded by great restaurants, pubs, and other amenities.
We offer demo and production and recording services to songwriters and bands. In the low-key, comfy studio, Bonnie can do anything from a quick snapshot recording of a number of songs in a day to a songwriter pitch demo to a mixed and mastered record with a live band. The studio puts Bon's extensive experience into creative play for you:
All these combine to make sure you get the best results
possible for your recording bucks. If you are interested in recording,
get in touch and we'll get something on the books; in October, the base
rate for all recording and consulting will go to $80 an hour (though we
do offer discounts for large projects, prepayment, sliding scale, etc.)
We also offer rehearsal services in the Redroom for $25 an hour, which includes a drum kit and bass rig as well as a serviceable PA. We can add live recording (onto your external Firewire drive, without overdubs or headphone mixes) for an additional $30 an hour. For all studio services contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or Contact Bonnie
